What is a ‘Pace’ program?

A. Harvest Christian Academy is a ‘Pace’ school. What that means is that every student works at his or her own pace. This gives the student a more individualized approach to learning. With the pace program, we are able to tailor the curriculum to fit each child’s individual needs.

Is Harvest Christian Academy accredited?

A. Harvest Christian Academy is a division of Alpha Omega Publications which is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCAC-CASI) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).

Q.
Does Harvest Christian Academy offer the same subjects as public schools?

A. HCA offers many of the same subjects as public schools, but puts a greater emphasis on the fundamental, core subjects i.e Math, Language Arts and Penmanship.

Q. Does HCA have Chapel service and Bible subjects? If so, how often?

A. HCA students have both Bible and Chapel. All students have Chapel prayer and devotion every week and Bible is a required subject for grades 3-12.

Q. When does the school begin teaching foreign languages?

A. HCA begins teaching Spanish in the third grade. Students in grades 10-12 are offered Spanish I & II.

Q. Does Harvest Christian Academy use “Achievement” testing?

A. At HCA we test all students K thru 12th using the TerraNova CTBS Multiple Assessment by McGraw Hill. Testing, or “assessment,” plays a vital role in education today. Test results are often a major force in shaping public perception about the quality of our school.

Q. Do Harvest Christian Academy students wear uniforms?

A. Yes, uniforms and high standards prevent the Christian youth from being a stumbling block to others through immodesty or sloppy dress. Uniforms help identify the student with Harvest Christian Academy. They eliminate the daily decision of what to wear and competition among peers.

Q. Do I have to be member of Harvest Free Will Baptist Church for my child to attend HCA?

A. No, we do not limit enrollment only to members of Harvest Free Will Baptist Church.
